Yardi Kube: A single connected platform for flexible workspace management
Yardi Kube

The Coworking Space Ship tour will start in Austin with a Coworking Treasure Hunt, as part of the second day of the Global Coworking Unconference Conference on Friday March 9. It will then travel to Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver.

In each city, a local coworking space will host and coorganize the schedule, creating an interesting mix of global and local issues. The mini-conferences will last for between two and three hours – or longer if the participants want to keep the conversation going.

The program will include a series of short presentations by Deskmag writers on a number of topics, including the Global Coworking Survey, interesting new trends we’ve spotted around the world, and a review of the main talking points at Austin for those who can’t make it to GCUC.

The floor will then be open to local coworking space operators and enthusiasts to discuss issues affecting coworking in your city. Anyone is able to propose a lightning talk to be included. Just get in touch with the coordinator, Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt! Zur Anzeige muss JavaScript eingeschaltet sein., to propose your topic.

At the end of the presentations, all participants will be invited to have a beer (or non-alcoholic drink) on us, and to network with each other. This will be a chance for operators to discuss ways they can organize to promote coworking in their area.

It’s free to attend the Coworking Space Ship, but we do ask that you register to help us with organization and catering. Everyone is invited – coworking space operator, coworker, local government representatives, or media.

The idea for the Coworking Space Ship started out simply enough: the Berlin-based team from Deskmag and our sister site Deskwanted are traveling to the U.S. to attend the Austin coworking conference. We wanted to use the opportunity to visit other cities and visit coworking spaces. At the same time, we know many people are eager to hear more about the statistics and stories we publish. Creating an interactive meet-up in each city seemed like the best way to combine all these factors.

And the name? Well, we’re all on an exploratory journey through the uncharted universe of coworking. A space-related theme seemed only appropriate!
